  1. WinBowl 2.5
  2. WinBowl is a fun, user-interactive bowling game for Windows 
  3. 3.1. Up to four players can play at one time with any 
  4. combination of human or computer players. Each player can 
  5. play at one of three different skill levels. Scoring is 
  6. based on the traditional 10-pin scoring system. A practice 
  7. mode is also included to practice specific pin setups.

  9. Other game features:
  10. -3D game interface (single view)
  11. -256 color graphics
  12. -Sound Support (must have a Sound Card)
  13. -Windows help file
  14. -Brief throwing tutorial
  15. -Registration good for ALL future versions

  17. New this version:
  18. -larger graphic (640x480) and optional scaling for different 
  19.  view sizes
  20. -resizable scorecard (can be hidden and shown with a button
  21.  click on the status bar)
  22. -status bar with current player scorecard and message window
  23. -Main Menu window for full screen mode (activate with
  24.  the right mouse button or the status bar button)
  25. -Throw evaluator window (activate under the Help menu)
  26.  showing power, spin and push/pull of each throw
  27. -Printing of the scorecard after a game or series (limited 
  28.  to 5 print-outs in shareware version)
  29. -Hall of Fame with top 10 all time scores and series,
  30.  plus all 300 games (registered version only)
  31. -Player definitions now include ball color preference
  32. -More stats kept including Winning percentage, Strike
  33.  percentage, and Spare pick-up percentage (registered
  34.  version only)
  35. -More persistency built in - meaning that the game saves
  36.  more information and starts up again more or less the way
  37.  you left it, such as window positions, players selected,
  38.  etc.

  41. These individual files should be in the WINBOWL.ZIP:

  44. install.exe  - WinBowl self-installing executable

  46. After running the INSTALL.EXE, the following files should have
  47. been installed into the directory you chose:
  48. winbwl25.exe - The WinBowl 2.5 executable
  49. winbwl25.dat - Data needed by WinBowl
  50. winbwl25.hlp - The WinBowl 2.5 help file
  51. orderfrm.wri - Order form for registering WinBowl

  54. For sound support, WinBowl 2.5 uses the WaveMix.DLL put out by
  55. Microsoft. If it wasn't already detected on your system, the 
  56. WinBowl installer placed the following files into WINDOWS and 
  57. WINDOWS\SYSTEM directories:

  59. C:\WINDOWS\wavemix.ini - the initialization file for wavemix
  60. C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\wavemix.dll - the wavemix sound mixer
  61.  
  62. NOTE: If a different version of wavemix was found on your system,
  63. these files were copied to the WinBowl directory since earlier 
  64. versions of wavemix.dll are not compatible with WinBowl.

  66. LISCENSE AGREEMENT
  67. This software is free of charge for a full 30 day trial period.
  68. If you decide to continue to use it after that point, you are
  69. strongly encouraged to register it. In order for the shareware
  70. concept to work and provide good software at reasonable prices,
  71. you need to support the programs you use. WinBowl registration
  72. is only $15 and is good for ALL future versions (just download
  73. new version and enter your registration code).

  76. -Player definitions may be saved
  77. -Stats for all players are kept automatically
  78. -Hall of Fame data kept and displayed
  79. -Games may be saved and resumed.

  88. Windows 3.1, 386+ CPU, and a mouse are required.
  89. 256 color video and Sound Card are strongly recommended.
